Brellum Pilot LE.3 Power Reserve Chronometer

Founded by Sébastien Muller in the Swiss Jura, Brellum is a small independent watchmaking brand that specializes in crafting vintage-inspired chronographs priced at attainable prices, yet without compromising on the specifications and the overall quality. Following the initial Duobox watch, Brellum then presented a bolder, sportier model inspired by aviation. This Pilot Power Reserve Chronometer today returns in a third limited edition – following number 1 and number 2 – dressed for the occasion in furtif grey.

Brellum Pilot LE.3 Power Reserve Chronometer

To create the Brellum Pilot Power Reserve, Sébastien Muller equipped his signature Duobox chronograph with typical pilot watch attributes, in particular the characteristic luminescent markers at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock or the counters. The main novelty for this new limited edition is its furtif grey dial colour, a sober elegant option that also provides great contrast and legibility. The different levels of the dial, in particular the applied Arabic numerals and recessed counters and power reserve indicator, create an interesting sense of depth.

In characteristic Brellum style, the Duobox case of the Pilot LE.3 Power Reserve Chronometer features mushroom-shaped push-pieces and two domed box-shaped sapphire crystals, one on the front and one on the back of the watch. Measuring 41.8mm in diameter, it is made out of 316L steel and is 100m water-resistant.

The Brellum Pilot LE.3 Power Reserve Chronometer is powered by the calibre BR-750-PR. No surprises here, as Brellum most often works with 7750-based movement. In this instance, the robust and reliable cam-lever movement comes in a version featuring a power reserve indicator that besides its practicality, creates a counterpoint to the signature 12-9-6 layout of the Valjoux. The specs are traditional with a 4Hz frequency and a 46-hour power reserve. Its precision is attested by a COSC chronometer certificate. Last, the movement is visible via the exhibition caseback with a personalized gold-plated rotor inspired by plane coordinators, instruments that allow pilots to control the position of their aircraft. The rotor is also engraved with the individual limited number of the watch.

The Brellum Pilot LE.3 Power Reserve Chronometer is delivered with both a brown calf leather strap with a folding buckle and a Milanese mesh bracelet that adds to the vintage feel of this chronograph. It is released now in a limited edition of 23 pieces. Price is set at EUR 3,350.
