Titoni is an independent family-owned watch brand founded in 1919 by Fritz Schluep in Grenchen, Switzerland and now in the hands of Daniel Schluep, the founder’s grandson. The brand’s robust dive watches are grouped in the Seascoper family and comprised of two models: the 600m water-resistant Seascoper and the more recent 300m water-resistant Seascoper. Coinciding with the summer months, Titoni launches two new limited-edition Seascoper 300 models in black DLC cases, one with a vibrant orange dial and a darker, all-black version.

In 2020, Titoni introduced the Seascoper 600, a COSC-certified chronometer fitted with Titoni’s manufacture movement – calibre T10 – with a depth rating of 600 metres. Two years later, Titoni unveiled the Seascoper 300, the smaller brother of the Seascoper 600 with half the water resistance, a thinner profile (12.55 vs. 14.45mm), no helium escape valve and an outsourced Sellita chronometer movement. However, don’t be misled: the Seascoper 300 is still a well-built, robust dive watch designed to withstand extreme outdoor adventures.

Protected by crown guards and a special gasket system to ensure the case remains waterproof and safe from impacts and dust, the crown screws down, and the caseback is closed. A fun detail on the caseback also references the watch’s maritime credentials in the form of a porthole – with bolts and all – and an inscription alluding to the limited edition.

The 42mm stainless steel case of the latest editions has a matte black DLC coating, offering increased durability and resistance to scratches. The rotating bezel is serrated for better grip and filled with glossy black ceramic with light grey markings and a luminous signal triangle at noon. Unlike the bezel of the Seascoper 600, the bezel of the 300 has no numerals.

Where the two watches part ways can be seen on the dial. The more vibrant orange enamelled dial is a limited edition of 100 pieces, while the all-black enamelled version is limited to 500. As a dive watch, the 11 applied indices and hands are big and bold with plenty of Super-LumiNova; the index at 3 o’clock has been removed to accommodate a date window. A flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial.

As mentioned, the movement powering the Seascoper 300 is not Titoni’s in-house automatic but a Sellita SW200-1 with COSC chronometer certification, a decision taken, no doubt, to contain costs. The price difference between the Seascoper 600 and the Seascoper 300 is about EUR 1,200.

Both models are presented in a special box and come with a black rubber strap with a black-coated steel folding clasp. Thanks to the push buttons, the strap is interchangeable and can be switched for the black, grey and white NATO-style fabric strap made from plastic recovered from the ocean fitted with a pin buckle.

  1. Why is the text on the dial so small?! I need a loop to read it…

  2. Love it. Two cool tools watches from a great Swiss watchmaker. Great value. The orange model is beneath the ocean surface fun.

  3. Titoni produce some solid watches – my Sportster from 2002 is still going strong! Good to see well-made, sensible watches for a sensible price. And if it matters, with a degree of exclusivity: I’ve never seen another one “in the wild” – I can’t say that about Rolex, Omega etc.
