The Tennis-Inspired Rado Captain Cook x Cameron Norrie Limited Edition

A celebration of tennis and the talents of Rado YoungStars team-member and professional tennis ace Cameron Norrie.

Rado has sponsored tennis for over three decades now. Since 1985, the brand has partnered with several tournaments but also with athletes such as Ashleigh Barty. Their latest tennis-themed timepiece is a limited edition created with young British player Cameron Norrie, a member of the Rado Tennis family since 2021. And as you have probably guessed from the start, it is based on one of their star collections, the Captain Cook.

Presented during the tennis grass season, this limited-edition Captain Cook comes in a 42mm steel case with a unidirectional bezel fitted with a green polished ceramic insert. It is matched by a domed green-to-white gradient dial. The Rado moving anchor logo is featured on a purple back plate and adds a playful element to the dial. The use of Superluminova on the bezel, dial and hands provides enhanced legibility in all conditions while bringing a sporty touch. The tip of the second hand is highlighted in yellow as a reference to tennis balls.

Inside this limited edition Captain Cook dive watch is the automatic calibre R763, also known as Powermatic 80 used by a fair number of other Swatch Group brands as well. This precise and reliable movement is an upgraded version of the ubiquitous ETA 2824. It has 25 jewels, a beat rate of 21,600vph (3Hz) and a beefed-up power reserve of 80 hours. It features an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring. Functions include central hours, minutes, seconds and the date. The stop-second mechanism allows for precise settings.

The watch is fitted with a polished and brushed steel bracelet with a titanium triple folding clasp. The strap options also include a black leather strap with a folding clasp or a green and white NATO-style textile strap with a pin buckle.

The Rado Captain Cook x Cameron Norrie is a Limited edition of 823 pieces which is a nod to the tennis star’s birthday, August 23rd. The watch retails for a price of EUR 2,850. For more information, please visit www.rado.com.
