Reservoir Watches (based in Paris) is one of the coolest brands to have emerged recently from the independent scene. Founded in 2016, Reservoir developed (together with Telos) a jumping hours/retrograde minutes module powering a range of watches inspired by car culture and old measurement instruments. The GT Tour now comes in a skeleton version, revealing its mechanism in transparency.

Reservoir GT Tour Skeleton

The Reservoir GT Tour is a model inspired by the golden age of motor racing. The original display of this watch emulates a speedometer and a fuel gauge, thanks to a module driving a complex mechanism composed of jumping hours and retrograde minutes, paired with a gauge-style power reserve indication. Ever wondered what the watch had under the hood? Well, it now comes in a Skeleton version that reveals the intricacies of its movement in full transparency – starting with the distinctive hour wheel in the centre, driving a plexiglass disc. Once the current hour is reached, the black numerals are highlighted against a white background. The other indications are directly transferred underneath the sapphire crystal.

Developed and manufactured with Telos in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the Reservoir three-complication module comprises no fewer than 124 parts. Jumping hours are quite complex mechanisms requiring an accumulation of power before it is released in one single, swift movement. It is mounted on the tried-and-tested automatic ETA 2824. Visible via the exhibition caseback, this workhorse has 37 hours of autonomy.
