The Maurice Lacroix Aikon Automatic Limited Summer Editions take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. It embraces a vacation-inspired vibe while staying true to the classical model’s urban-themed design concept. The introduction of these latest Aikon models ensures the continuation of the success story that started in the 1990s with the Calypso, an iconic model from the brand that inspired the creation of the Aikon collection. The new and colourful Aikon Automatic Summer Edition watches invite the fashion-forward crowd to flaunt a fresh look and take it to the beach in three sizes and various dial options with matching rubber straps that exude a summery feel.

Introduced in 2016, the Aikon, presented by the brand as the perfect companion for an urban and active, young lifestyle, quickly gained popularity and built a solid fan base. The Aikon watches with their distinguished look, are easily recognizable thanks to a round bezel with six prominent “arms” and an integrated bracelet fitted with the Aikon easy-change system. With it, you can swap the bracelet for a rubber or a leather strap in seconds with no tools, adding modern quality to the Aikon series.

For this Summer Limited Edition, Maurice Lacroix chose the classical Aikon Automatic time and date model revealed a few years back and generously added fashionable colours that bring vacation time closer. Each variation showcases a Clous de Paris dial pattern with a matte finish, with little differences in design aimed to appeal to the right audience, with the date window at 3 o’clock. The cases are in stainless steel, with brushed and polished surfaces and an open caseback.

The 35mm case option features a Ballerina Pink dial, which according to the brand, should remind you of the twilight sky just before sunset. Also, one can choose a Tanager Turquoise dial, reminiscent of the “shallow waters of the ocean”. These smaller models feature a combination of silver batons and diamond-set indices to indicate the hours. The 39mm Summer Edition is offered as a unisex model and is available with the Ballerina Pink or Tanager Turquoise dial, with silver baton hour indices all around. The Summer Edition also includes two larger references, housed in 42mm steel cases, with Tanager Turquoise and Orange Soda dials. The Orange Soda dial displays the hours, minutes, seconds, and date, with black accents replacing silver ones for better contrast.

These Aikon Summer Edition watches are supplied with matching rubber straps for enhanced wearer comfort and with a 5-row stainless steel bracelet. As with all Aikon watches, these models incorporate the brand’s Easy Strap Exchange System, allowing for a simple and user-friendly strap-to-bracelet swap without needing tools. Each reference is produced as a limited edition of 888 pieces and is powered by the ML 115 automatic calibre (Sellita SW 200-1 base), which runs at 28,800vph and has 38 hours of power reserve when fully wound. The 39mm and 42mm Aikon Automatic Summer Edition references cost EUR 2,550, and the smaller 35mm with diamond-set indices are EUR 2,600, including taxes.

  1. Always liked the looks of these.
Not sure what more you would want, except for a different name on the dial…
